The use of technology is an effective learning tool and encouraged in the middle school. Laptop computers are provided to the students when needed. A wireless network brings the internet into the classroom. The technology team secures websites to control the content accessed by students and provide for save browsing. Parents and students sign a technology use agreement at the beginning of the school year.
WVCS MS also understands that technology may also be a distractor from the learning environment.  Students are allowed to bring cell phones for use before and after school. During the school day, students turn phones off and secure them in their locker. Parents and students needing to communicate during the school day may do so through the office phone during breaks. Personal educational technology (such as Kindles, Nooks, etc.) are allowed for educational purposes and monitored for appropriate use.
